Fernando Cerdeira Pérez
Fernando Cerdeira Pérez is an Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Machines and Motors and Fluids at the University of Vigo, member of the Chemical, Environmental & Thermal Engineering research group (ChETE) and of the Network of Bioremediation and Water Energy of Galicia (Bioauga). With a PhD degree in the field of infrared thermography from the University of Vigo in 2008, he is an industrial engineer and a thermographic technician level I, certified by the Infrared Training Center. As university professor, he teaches courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the School of Mining and Energy Engineering and at the School of Industrial Engineering, where he has coordinated PhD research works and dissertations and over 100 Master theses. Regarding the management positions held at the University de Vigo, Fernando Cerdeira has served as Deputy Director for Student Affairs at the School of Industrial Engineering for 6 years and since 2017, he has been Deputy Director for Infrastructure. His research lines focus on the following areas: the experimental study of liquid-water heat pumps for domestic geothermal applications and the use of low or non-global warming potential refrigerants (GWP); the study of CO2 absorption processes in organic-aqueous solutions with different amines and the use of infrared thermography as a tool for the detection of defects in building. With respect to the scientific publications, Fernando Cerdeira has published 16 papers in indexed journals, over 30 papers at conferences, 8 research projects including 1 as main researcher and 12 research projects directly funded by companies and holds 2 national patents.
